Small group of bison from a large herd in the Valley Prairie. The group is a mix of bulls and cows.

The bison are part of a large free-roaming herd on the Zapatta/Medno Ranches operated by the Nature Conservancy. The ranches border on the west of the Great Sand Dunes National Park in the eastern part of the San Luis Valley.
